The first Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow took place in 1988. It was organized in order to restore the memory of Polish Jews, to demonstrate their contribution to Polish history and culture, and finally, to reveal the richness of Jewish life in pre-war Poland.

After 25 years, the Festival has become the largest event of its kind in Europe, and one of the most prestigious in the world, merging the societies of Poland and Europe, as well as the United States.The Festival presents and promotes Jewish culture from Israel and the Diaspora, offering more than 200 events to an international audience of more than 30,000 people, who experience the diversity of Jewish religious and secular cultures.
